The latest bar in the Yates 'Laurel Refurbishment Programme' opened in March 2006 in Glasgows West George Street.

Our brief was to make the first floor more dining orientated during the day, transforming to a chill out area in the evening. The ground floor was to maintain its high activity feel at night time with comfortable furniture for the daytime trade.

The design enhances the classical interior of the building in a contemporary way with concealed lighting, use of colours and wallpapers to help acheive the two different day and evening trades. Artwork was specifically chosen from Scottish artists to further enhance the design and its location.

The building is listed and within a conservation area which imposed its own criteria in fulfilling the brief. In the first three months of opening, trade increased by 20% with food trade up by 30%.
